The Second Luminous Mystery Another mystery of light is the first of the signs, given at Cana (cf. John 2:1- 12), when Christ changes water into wine and opens the hearts of the disciples to faith, thanks to the intervention of Mary, the first among believers. (Pope John Paul II, The Rosary of the Virgin Mary, para. 21)
On the third day, there was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. When they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." Jesus replied, "Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servers, "Do whatever he tells you." ... And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom and said to him, "Everyone serves good wine first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one; but you have kept the good wine until now." Jesus did this as the first of his signs and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him. (John 2:1-11)
We glow brighter with the light of Christ when we obey the instructions He gives to us. Even when the task doesn't make sense, if we "do whatever" He tells us, He reveals His glory in us and through us.
